Duals At Daytona

Qualifying for the Duals at Daytona just finished. Martin Truex Jr. will be on the pole for the Daytona 500 with Mark Martin starting along side in second. Todays qualifying only sets the front row and locks in 3 drivers, not in the top 35 in owners points into the race. The 3 are Bill Elliot, Travis Kvapil, and Tony Stewart. The Duals at Daytona will be Thursday on Speed. Click here for the for the starting grid.
Oh Boy A-Rod

SI.com reports that Alex Rodriguez tested positive for an anabolic steroid and testosterone in 2003. Read Article Here. If anything, this provides more material for opening day when the Yankees come to Baltimore. Even though I don’t like A-Rod, I don’t think any punishment should be issued. If this report is true, there were 104 other players tested positive. It was also legal to use steroids when this happened. If he is clean now, lets just move on and be happy that baseball is clean now (maybe because of this test). Unfortunately, there is this company named ESPN, who can’t help themselves and kill a story. This is a nice filler until Brett Favre decides on retirement or when TO starts talking again. Unless something big comes out of this, I won’t talk about it again.
Pro Bowl Skills Competition

I know the Pro Bowl isn’t important, but I’ve always enjoyed the Skills Competition. I ask what happened to it? I can’t find it anywhere. The NFL Network is airing the 2007 competition, but not the 2008 or 2009 competitions. I sent the NFL an e-mail, but I doubt they will respond. If anybody knows, please tell me. I Hate Comcast

I hate Comcast. They need to boost their HD programing NOW! I pay extra for the sports package so I can get The NFL Network and Speed. I get NFL Network HD, but not Speed HD, Why? Speed HD is offered less than 20 miles away in Fairfax County, Virginia and Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Now as the NASCAR season starts, I want my HD. I called Comcast to find out and my answer was that, “I deal with Montgomery County, Prince Georges County, Howard County, and Washington DC. They don’t offer this HD channel.” He goes on to tell me what HDTV is, “There are two channels, they are the same [programing], the HD channel is just better picture.” No really! I had no clue. I inform him that Speed is an HD channel carried in other Comcast markets. He got real quiet and shoved me off the phone. Wow! I would switch, but Verizon Fios hasn’t been installed in my area yet and it is expensive to switch to Dish Network or Direct TV.
Conference Championships

The 2009 NFL Playoffs have been very unpredictable. It it wasn’t for the Steelers, this weekend would make no sense. The Eagles and Ravens are both 6 seeds and the Cardinals are a 4. Staying with the theme of the current playoffs, there is no reason that Arizona can’t with the whole damn thing. Pennsylvania can also have their way with the old Steagles game. Can the Steelers outlast the birds…all the birds and win the Super Bowl? I have always wanted to be an analyst and pick games while sounding like I know what I’m talking about.
NFC Championship Game
Philadelphia Eagles at Arizona Cardinals
Being a Redskins fan, I hate the Eagles. The Eagles are a better team, but they won’t win. The Cardinals are poised to go all the way…Arizona Wins.
AFC Championship Game
Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers
Defense, Defense, Defense. That is what this game is about. Baltimore wants this game bad. Two losses are bad and they don’t want a third…Ravens Win.
WOW!

Wow! The Divisional Playoff Weekend is only half over. The outcomes have been surprising. I’m not surprised that the Ravens beat the Titans, but did anyone truly believe the Cardinals could come east and kill the Panthers. I was wrong, I didn’t think Arizona had a chance. I guess that’s why you play the game. More to come later…
Pacman on The NFL Today

Adam “Pacman” Jones and his lawyer appeared on The NFL Today on CBS, Saturday before the Ravens vs. Titans Divisional Playoff Game. James Brown did a great job asking questions. Jones seemed stupid. He was repetitive with his answers and didn’t say anything of value. The highlight of the interview was when JB asked Pacman about strip clubs. “What is it about strip clubs that you can’t stay away from?” Jones responded with this gem, “I live in Atlanta and I like edda strip clubs.” Enough said! JB asked the questions we all wanted to know. Pacman also said that he thinks a deserves a second chance. He already got that chance. He is pushing his luck and wants a third chance. I think he will get it. I don’t think he should, but he probably will. Why does Orioles OF Adam Jones have to share a name with this thug.
